Attacker running ban risk: Arsenal injury, suspension list for PSV clash

Arguably now Mikel Arteta's best shot at bringing silverware to the Arsenal faithful this season, the Gunners return to a Champions League setting on Tuesday evening, facing PSV Eindhoven in the first leg of their last-16 clash.

Thanks to a third-placed finish in the league phase behind Liverpool and Barcelona, Arsenal skipped the knockout round playoff phase, allowing them to jet off for another short break in Dubai.

However, the Gunners only had a season-ending Kai Havertz injury to show for their mid-season trip and have failed to score in back-to-back Premier League games, thereby falling 13 points below champions-elect Liverpool in the top-flight table.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the Gunners' latest injury and suspension news before their showdown with PSV, who bested Italian giants Juventus 4-3 on aggregate in the knockout round playoffs.

Gabriel Jesus

Status: Out Type of injury: Knee Possible return date: Unknown

Gabriel Jesus might have played for the last time in 2025, as the Brazil international is still in the early stages of his recovery from the season-ending ACL rupture he suffered in January.

Bukayo Saka

Status: Out Type of injury: Hamstring Possible return date: April 1 (vs. Fulham)

Bukayo Saka has now been out with a hamstring problem for almost three months, having had to undergo surgery to rectify the issue, but there is optimism that he will be fit and firing again after the international break.

Takehiro Tomiyasu

Status: Out Type of injury: Knee Possible return date: Unknown

Unfortunate right-back Takehiro Tomiyasu recently had to undergo an operation to treat a long-standing knee injury, and he is not anticipated to return until the latter stages of 2025.

Kai Havertz

Status: Out Type of injury: Hamstring Possible return date: Unknown

As mentioned, Havertz sustained a campaign-ending hamstring injury during the Gunners' warm-weather training camp in Dubai, and the Germany international is working to be fit for pre-season following surgery.

Gabriel Martinelli

Status: Out Type of injury: Hamstring Possible return date: April 1 (vs. Fulham)

Either Saka or Gabriel Martinelli should be the next cab off the rank for Arteta, but the latter's hamstring problem is also expected to keep him out for another few weeks.

ARSENAL'S SUSPENSION LIST

Arsenal have no players suspended for this game, as Myles Lewis-Skelly is available again following a domestic suspension, but Raheem Sterling will miss the second leg if he is booked.
