Ajax looking to sign Samuel Eto'o?

Free agent Samuel Eto'o could be joining Eredivisie champions Ajax, the Dutch club's sporting director Marc Overmars has revealed.

Overmars is excited about the prospect of getting the former Chelsea man after the Cameroonian's one-year deal with Chelsea was not renewed.

He told Voetbal International: "Samuel seemed very hungry to play for Ajax. He is fit and has a great drive to succeed once again.

"We don't want to block the growing process of our talents like [Arkadiusz] Milik and [Richairo] Zivkovic, but if it is possible to sign a world-class player like Eto'o, then why not?"

Eto'o is looking for a new club after scoring 12 goals for the West London side last season, with all of the goals coming at Stamford Bridge.
