James Tredwell "disappointed" by World Cup inactivity

Off-spinner James Tredwell admits that he was left "disappointed" and surprised by his lack of action during England's disastrous World Cup campaign.

James Tredwell has admitted that he was left disappointed and surprised by his lack of action during England's disastrous World Cup campaign.

The off-spinner, a regular in the 50-over side since 2012, was not used until the dead rubber against Afghanistan as Eoin Morgan's side crashed out at the group stage.

Tredwell has the opportunity to move on from this setback, having been included in the Test squad to tour West Indies next month.

"Personally I was slightly disappointed not to feature a bit more," the 33-year-old told Sky Sports News. "I left this winter thinking I'd have a pretty big role in what was going to unfold and that wasn't the case.

"I will try and put that behind me as quickly as possible."

The Kent bowler has taken 60 wickets at an average of 27.76 since making his ODI debut in 2010.
