Geoffrey Boycott: 'England lacking imagination'

Geoffrey Boycott has claimed that England are lacking 'individuality, originality and flair' following their early exit at the Cricket World Cup.

The Three Lions failed to reach the quarter-finals of the tournament on Monday with a surprise 15-run defeat to Bangladesh in Pool A.

Boycott, who played 36 one-day international matches for England, has put the team's elimination down to a paucity of imagination and freedom at the crease.

"You need individuality, originality, flair, and you need different players," he told BBC Sport. "The task is to get the players to play their own way, to their full ability, without fear."

England play their final group game on Friday when they meet Afghanistan in Sydney.
