England struggling against Australia

England lose three wickets in the morning session on day three to head into lunch on 116-4 against Australia in Adelaide.

England have headed into lunch on day three of the second Ashes Test against Australia on 116-4.

The tourists resumed in the morning on 35-1, having seen the Aussies declare after scoring 570 runs for the loss of nine wickets.

It did not take long for Australia to strike as Joe Root was dismissed by Nathan Lyon when he edged to Chris Rogers at deep square-leg with the score at 57.

Kevin Pietersen was out shortly afterwards after making just four runs of 12 balls when he was caught by George Bailey of a Peter Siddle delivery.

England appeared to have steadied themselves with Ian Bell and Michael Carberry looking comfortable on the crease, before the latter was dismissed just before lunch after making 60 runs, Shane Watson taking his wicket.

Bell is currently unbeaten on 29 runs, while Ben Stokes has yet to open his account.
