England have won the toss and captain Alastair Cook has elected to bat for the opening day of the fourth Ashes Test.

The hosts are aiming to win the series after retaining the Ashes on Monday due to the third Test at Old Trafford being drawn because of rain.

"It's quite a dry wicket and we think we can get a good spin on the ball early on," said Cook. "It's going to be tough for the first few hours, it always is up here."

England have named an unchanged side for the Test, while Australia have called Ashes debutant Jackson Bird into the team in place of Mitchell Starc.
