England make a reserved start during the morning session of the fourth Ashes Test, reaching 57-1 at lunch.

England have made a slow start to the fourth Test match in Durham, reaching 57-1 at lunch against Australia.

After winning the toss, Alastair Cook and Joe Root were content to ease themselves through the opening hour without any alarm, taking their score to 31-0.

However, the tourists made the breakthrough soon after, with Shane Watson having Root caught behind for 16.

That brought to the crease Jonathan Trott, who displayed a bit of intent in moving to 13 off 23 balls, while Cook reached lunch on 21 off 90 deliveries.
