Yamaguchi Falcao Florentino scrapes past Meng Fanlong

Brazil's Yamaguchi Falcao Florentino has scraped past China's Fanlong Meng on a countback in an entertaining light heavyweight encounter.

A close opening round ended with Meng leading by just one point, but Falcao began to find the target in the second.

The two men exchanged bursts of combinations throughout the round, with the Brazilian producing the better quality.

The scores were level heading into the decider and both men finished strongly. The judges could not seperate the fighters and scored the bout at 17-17.

However, it was the Brazilian who prevailed on the countback.
