Adriana Araujo holds off Mahjouba Oubtil

Brazil's Adriana Araujo has withstood a late fightback from Morocco's Mahjouba Oubtil to seal a spot in the semi-finals of the lightweight tournament.

Araujo got the better of her opponent in the first two rounds and opened up a three-point lead at the halfway stage.

Oubtil began the third round brightly as she sought to turn the scores in her favour. She was first to the punch throughout the stanza and cut her deficit by one.

The Moroccan exerted more pressure in the final round and Araujo was forced to hang on slightly.

However, the Brazilian hung on to claim a 16-12 victory.
