The Washington Wizards are reportedly willing to offer guard Bradley Beal a max contract in order to secure his long-term future at the franchise.
The 21-year-old is already considered one of the top shooting guards in the NBA and will be eligible for a contract extension next summer.
"As league executives believe in Beal's ability to command a maximum salary extension, the Wizards have made clear around the NBA that they'll do whatever necessary to secure Beal's long-term deal," sources told RealGM.
The Wizards went 7-2 without Beal earlier this season as he recovered from an injury, and they have gone 2-2 since his return.
However, Beal has averaged 14.6 points, 3.2 assists and 3.6 rebounds per game over five contests since recovering from surgery on a fractured left wrist.
