NBA roundup: Wins for Spurs, Bulls, Warriors

Sports Mole rounds up all of the action from Sunday's games in the NBA.

Gregg Popovich was back on the bench following a minor medical procedure as his San Antonio Spurs side eased to a 111-89 victory over the Boston Celtics on Sunday.

The defending champions were five points behind at the half-time interval, but they were boosted by a strong offensive performance in the second half as Danny Green contributed 18 points for the visitors.

At the Barclays Center, the Chicago Bulls were in a similarly dominant mood on their way to a comfortable 102-84 win over the Brooklyn Nets.

Jimmy Butler continued his fine form with 26 points, while Pau Gasol added 25 points and 13 rebounds as the Bulls finished a 14-day road trip with a 4-3 record.

The Golden State Warriors recorded a ninth successive win by easing to a 104-93 triumph against the Detroit Pistons.

However, it wasn't all positive news for the Warriors as Stephen Curry left the game in the third quarter with an ankle injury after posting 16 points and 10 assists.

The Memphis Grizzlies improved their record to 15-2 by producing a strong finish to beat the Sacramento Kings 97-85 at the Sleep Train Arena.

Sacramento were without the injured DeMarcus Cousins, and his absence would prove to be crucial as Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol combined for 40 points and 18 rebounds for the Grizzlies.

Dwyane Wade returned from injury to score 27 points as the Miami Heat held off a late response from the New York Knicks to claim an 86-79 victory at Madison Square Garden.

Carmelo Anthony was back in the New York team after recovering from an injury of his own, but even a 31-point performance from him was not enough to prevent the Heat from holding on for a ninth win of the campaign.

The Orlando Magic ended a run of four successive losses with a 98-83 win against the Phoenix Suns in Arizona.

A 16-point lead was cut to three by the Suns in the fourth quarter, but the Magic held firm in the closing stages to survive the late challenge from the hosts.

LaMarcus Aldridge was the star of the show as the Portland Trail Blazers cruised to a 107-93 triumph over the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The three-time All-Star recorded 26 points and 15 rebounds to lead the Blazers past a Timberwolves which only had 10 players available due to injuries and illness.

Kobe Bryant inspired the Los Angeles Lakers to a surprise win as the hosts recorded a 129-122 overtime victory over the Toronto Raptors at the Staples Center.

Seven players would score in double figures for the Lakers, but it was Bryant's 31 points, 11 points and 12 rebounds which was crucial as they pulled away from the Raptors after being tied at 109-109 at the end of four quarters.
