Jeff Ayres: 'Miami Heat players wanted to hurt me'

Jeff Ayres claims that Miami Heat players were trying to injure him during a pre-season game on Sunday.

Jeff Ayres has claimed that some Miami Heat players were trying to injure him in a pre-season game on Sunday.

San Antonio Spurs lost the contest 121-96 and Ayres revealed his disappointment with the attitude of some of his opponents.

"That's what it felt like," Ayres told journalists. "People were trying to take out my knees and stuff. I was like, it's pre-season take a chill pill."

The 26-year-old was involved in an altercation with Miami's Norris Cole during last season's Eastern Conference Finals, when he was still an Indiana Pacers player, which saw both players ejected in game seven of the series.
