Wesley Matthews suffers irregular heartbeat

The Portland Trail Blazers have announced that Wesley Matthews suffered an irregular heartbeat during yesterday's practice.

The guard was diagnosed with an atrial fibrillation, and has since undergone an electrical cardioversion procedure to correct the problem.

The team has confirmed that the 27-year-old did not travel with the team ahead of their pre-season game against the Golden State Warriors later today.

Matthews averaged 14.8 points per game last season.
