Report: Oklahoma City Thunder consider Maurice Cheeks approach

The Oklahoma City Thunder are reportedly considering bringing back former assistant coach Maurice Cheeks to join the staff of new head coach Billy Donovan.

The Oklahoma City Thunder have reportedly moved closer to re-appointing former assistant Maurice Cheeks as part of Billy Donovan's new coaching setup.

Cheeks has plenty of NBA experience, having been assistant at the Thunder for four years between 2009 and 2013 and since then being the Detroit Pistons' head coach.

According to ESPN, OKC chiefs are considering bringing back Cheeks to help new Thunder head coach Billy Donovan with his transition to the NBA.

The Thunder have already brought in recently-fired New Orleans Pelicans head coach Monty Williams to aid Donovan in his first season of NBA coaching after two decades with Florida State University.
