Kevin Durant dislikes 'Slim Reaper' nickname

Kevin Durant reveals that he is not a fan of the nickname 'Slim Reaper', but admits that sponsors Nike may still use it as a marketing tool.

Kevin Durant has revealed that he dislikes being referred to as the 'Slim Reaper' after the nickname recently gained popularity with fans and media outlets.

The Oklahoma City Thunder guard has admitted that he did not like the nickname, but concedes that he would be powerless to prevent sponsors Nike from using it to advertise his own brand of basketball shoes.

"I'm here to shine a bright light," Durant told reporters. "I'm not here to be a guy of, I guess, death. I just like KD better.

"If Nike wants to come out with something, then they're going to come out with it.

"They're going to ask me, but at the end of the day, if they want to do it, they're going to do it."

Nike are yet to reveal whether they are considering using the nickname as a marketing tool.
