Chandler to miss up to six weeks with leg fracture

The New York Knicks have confirmed that Tyson Chandler will miss up to six weeks after sustaining a leg fracture during last night's defeat to the Charlotte Bobcats.

Initial reports suggested that the center may have sprained his knee after colliding with Bobcats point guard Kemba Walker, but further tests have revealed no ligament or nerve damage.

The team confirmed on Twitter this afternoon that the 31-year-old will be out for four to six weeks while recovering from a small non-displaced right tibula fracture.

Chandler has averaged 7.3 points per game so far this season.
