Shawne Williams agrees Los Angeles Lakers deal

The Los Angeles Lakers have announced that Shawne Williams has signed a contract with the team for the coming season.

The forward has not been part of on NBA side since being waived by the Portland Trail Blazers last July.

The move will see Williams work under head coach Mike D'Antoni, who was also his coach during his spell at the New York Knicks.

The 27-year-old achieved a career-high 7.1 points per game during his season with the Knicks in 2010-11.
