Los Angeles Lakers star Pau Gasol to miss Utah trip

Los Angeles Lakers star Pau Gasol has not travelled with his teammates ahead of their encounter with the Utah Jazz on Friday.

The Spaniard has been dealing with an upper respiratory illness, and has now been listed as day-to-day by the franchise.

"I think it's lingering a little bit. I think it does affect him," coach Mike D'Antoni told reporters.

Gasol did not practise on Thursday but there has been an improvement in his performances in the last seven games, as he is averaging 16.0 points and 9.3 rebounds.
