Pau Gasol prefers Los Angeles Lakers stay

Los Angeles Lakers star Pau Gasol has revealed that although he is aware of trade talk, he would prefer to stay with the franchise.

Gasol has suffered with both injuries and issues with coach Mike D'Antoni over his role in the offense this season, but remains committed to Los Angeles.

"My preference is to stay. That's what I've been saying all year, though the circumstances are difficult right now for our team and nobody's too happy. But it's still my team and I still want to be here," he said, the Los Angeles Times reports.

The Spaniard will be an unrestricted free agent this summer and it is unclear as to whether the Lakers wish to extend his stay in the city.
