Mike D'Antoni: 'Memphis Grizzlies wanted it more than us'

Los Angeles Lakers coach Mike D'Antoni has said that the Memphis Grizzlies wanted the win more than his own side as the Lakers were defeated 102-90 at the Staples Center.

The win moves Memphis into the final playoff position in the Western Conference, thanks to a standout showing from Mike Conley, who notched 24 points and provided eight assists.

"They wanted it more than we did and you could see it," D'Antoni said after the game. "I'm sure they got a little scared in the first half and talked about it [at halftime] and then put the hammer to us."

The Grizzlies will now face a potentially decisive game against the Phoenix Suns next Monday.
