NBA roundup: Kawhi Leonard stars as Clippers end Jazz's winning streak

Kawhi Leonard finished with 29 points for the Clippers, while Utah's Donovan Mitchell scored 35.

The Utah Jazz's nine-game winning streak came to an end courtesy of a 116-112 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers.

After a dominant 18-point win over the Clippers on Thursday, the Jazz looked to be facing a tougher task from the start as the hosts claimed the early advantage, taking an eight-point lead into the second quarter.

The two sides remained neck-and-neck throughout the rest of the game, with Donovan Mitchell again leading from the front to keep Utah in the game.

However his 35-point effort ultimately fell short, with Kawhi Leonard's 29 points enough to hand the Jazz just their sixth loss of the season.

Chris Paul was at his best for Phoenix, dropping 19 assists to help guide the Suns to a 132-114 win over the New Orleans Pelicans.

Paul's effort spurred a stunning fourth-quarter comeback as Phoenix outscored their opponents by 29 points in the final period.

Despite leading for a bulk of the first three quarters, the Pelicans crumbled down the stretch to suffer their fourth loss in five games.

The Orlando Magic survived a third-quarter explosion to down the Golden State Warriors 124-120 on the back of 30 points from Nikola Vucevic.

Steph Curry led the way for the Warriors with 29, however it was not enough for Golden State to overcome another inconsistent performance.

A career night from Joel Embiid propelled the Philadelphia 76ers to a 112-105 win over the Chicago Bulls.

In the absence of Ben Simmons, Embiid posted a career-high 50 points and 17 rebounds as the Sixers held on to top spot in the Eastern Conference ahead of the Brooklyn Nets.

Elsewhere, the Toronto Raptors picked up their third-straight win with an 86-81 defeat of the Minnesota Timberwolves and a 50-point showing from Jamal Murray helped the Denver Nuggets beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 120-103.

The Boston Celtics cruised past the Atlanta Hawks 121-109, the Memphis Grizzlies defeated the Detroit Pistons 109-95 and the Milwaukee Bucks ground out a 95-89 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder.
