NBA roundup: 12th win in a row for Cleveland Cavaliers

Sports Mole rounds up all the action from Thursday's games in the NBA.

The Cleveland Cavaliers survived a dominant fourth-quarter performance from the Los Angeles Clippers to extend their winning run to 12 games.

LeBron James and Kevin Love combined for 47 as the Cavaliers opened up a 32-point lead midway through the third quarter, leaving the reserves to see out the game.

Blake Griffin and Jamal Crawford tried to make it respectable in the fourth, cutting the lead in the final minutes, but Cleveland never looked like giving up their advantage.

The Dallas Mavericks bounced back from defeat to the Golden State Warriors by thrashing the Sacramento Kings.

Monta Ellis got the Mavericks off to a bright start, helping them to a 17-point lead by the break, before extending it in the third.

Although Dallas used their bench in the fourth quarter, the lead did not drop below 20.

The Phoenix Suns slipped to their third straight defeat as they were well beaten by the Portland Trail Blazers.

The Blazers were comfortably ahead by the end of the first quarter as LaMarcus Aldridge made a quick start, leaving Portland 12 points up after 12 minutes.

Markieff Morris gave the Suns some hope, getting them back into the game in the third quarter, but Nicolas Batum and Robin Lopez made sure of the win.

The Charlotte Hornets made it three wins in a row with a strong finish in their game against the Washington Wizards.

The visitors had a five-point lead heading into the fourth quarter, but Gerald Henderson led the late comeback, finishing with 27 as the Hornets overturned the deficit.

Lance Stephenson got the sides back on level terms inside the final 10 minutes before Henderson and Al Jefferson opened up a lead.
