Indiana Pacers beat Washington Wizards after double overtime

Pacers beat Wizards after double overtime

The Indiana Pacers needed double overtime to secure a narrow 99-95 win over the Washington Wizards, keeping alive their hopes of reaching the playoffs.

After finishing the opening quarter level, Washington started to pull away in the second, with Ramon Sessions and Otto Porter Jr among the points.

CJ Miles got the Pacers back into the game after the break though, leaving the hosts just three points adrift heading into the fourth quarter, while Rodney Stuckey edged Indiana ahead late in regulation, before John Wall made a two-pointer to force overtime.

After the first overtime period failed to split the teams, George Hill edged the hosts in front again, before Miles and David West added baskets, securing the victory for the Pacers.

The win moves Indiana up to eighth in the Eastern Conference standings ahead of their final game of the regular season, while the Wizards have already clinched fifth.

The Wizards host the Cleveland Cavaliers later today, while the Pacers visit the Memphis Grizzlies, where they will try to clinch a playoff spot.
