NBA opts against suspending Houston Rockets centre Dwight Howard

Houston Rockets centre Dwight Howard escapes a ban for hitting Golden State Warriors Andrew Bogut in the face.

The Houston Rockets will have centre Dwight Howard available for today's playoff game against Golden State Warriors.

Howard was found to have "recklessly hit" Andrew Bogut in the face during the Rockets' 128-115 thrashing two days ago.

However, NBA president of basketball operations Rod Thorn has said that he sees no need to increase his flagrant 1 foul, which would have seen the 29-year-old banned for game five of the tie.

The Warriors lead the series 3-1.
