Josh Kroenke: 'Brian Shaw staying with Denver Nuggets'

Denver Nuggets president Josh Kroenke insists that coach Brian Shaw will not be leaving the team during the off-season.

Denver Nuggets president Josh Kroenke has insisted that Brian Shaw will not be leaving the team during the off-season.

The coach has been linked to the vacancy at the New York Knicks, having assisted Knicks president Phil Jackson during his time as coach of the Los Angeles Lakers.

However, Kroenke told Yahoo Sports: "Brian has said publicly, and privately to us, that his desire is to be here, and we feel strongly about him as our coach.

"I don't foresee a scenario or circumstance where he's going to be anywhere but with the Nuggets next season."

In his first season in charge of the side, Shaw led the Nuggets to a 36-46 record, which left them out of the playoffs for the first time since 2003.
