Report: Fab Melo invited to Dallas Mavericks training camp

The Dallas Mavericks invite Fab Melo to take part in their pre-season training camp, according to reports.

Dallas Mavericks have reportedly invited free agent Fab Melo to take part in their pre-season training camp.

Melo, who only played six times in his rookie season, was waived by the Memphis Grizzlies this summer after being traded by the Boston Celtics.

The Mavericks are believed to be looking for a back-up to Samuel Dalembert and were considering a move for Greg Oden before he secured a deal with the Miami Heat.

Melo will now join up with the Mavericks squad and attempt to secure a minimum-salary contract with the franchise, according to ESPN.
