Nowitzki: 'Moving into top 10 feels surreal'

Dirk Nowitzki has said that becoming the 10th-highest points scorer of all time in the NBA feels "kind of surreal".

The Dallas Mavericks forward scored 21 during the team's 95-83 win over the Utah Jazz to move above Oscar Robertson and reach the top 10.

The 35-year-old told reporters: "It feels kind of surreal, still. All night, I was trying not to think about it. I was trying to concentrate on the next shot.

"I knew how many points I needed, but I wasn't trying to think about it. I was just trying to think about the next shot and how I can get open."

Nowitzki has scored 26,714 points since entering the NBA in 1998, over 12,000 fewer than all-time leader Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
