Hairston impresses in D-League debut

PJ Hairston has made a strong start to his NBA development league career, scoring 22 points on his debut with the Texas Legends.

The shooting guard, who is predicted by some to be a first-round Draft pick later this year, was the team's leading scorer, reaching his total from 16 shots, and also picking up six steals.

The former North Carolina star became the first player to feature in the league in the same season as playing in college when he joined the Dallas Mavericks' D-League side last week.

The NCAA ruled Hairston ineligible from college basketball following arrests for driving offences and possession of marijuana.
