Kyrie Irving not putting a date on return

Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving is not putting a date on his return from surgery on a fractured kneecap.

Kyrie Irving has insisted that he is not putting a date on his return from surgery to repair his fractured kneecap.

The Cleveland Cavaliers point guard was ruled out for three to four months after sustaining the injury in the playoffs, but is already walking without the aid of crutches.

The 23-year-old told the Cleveland Plain Dealer: "I'm honestly not putting a date on anything. People are going to put a date regardless. I'm just continuing to be on the journey I've been on and that's continuing to get better every single day and rehabbing my leg."

Irving featured in 75 regular season games for the beaten NBA finalists last season, averaging 21.7 points per game.
