Rose sits out USA practice to rest

Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose sat out of Team USA practice for the second day in a row but it is reported that this is merely precautionary.

It is also suggested that Rose will not play in the exhibition match against the Dominican Republic at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday night.

"I'm really happy where I'm at right now. I'm just trying to take my time and get rest because we have a long schedule ahead of us," Rose said, NBA.com reports.

The 25-year-old has been in impressive form through training camp and he is expected to play a vital role for Team USA in the FIBA World Cup in Spain later this month.
