Joakim Noah confirms he won't play for France in the European Championships

France will be without Chicago Bulls centre Joakim Noah in the European Championships this September, as well as the 2016 Olympic Games.

Chicago Bulls centre Joakim Noah has confirmed that he won't represent France at the European Championships this September.

The 30-year-old hasn't represented his country in over three years, and has missed much of this season with a left knee injury.

He confirmed that his NBA career is more important, and he won't be considered for the 2016 Olympic Games.

He said in a statement: "The French team is a great experience, but it has never been my priority."

Noah is contracted with the Bulls until the end of next season.
