Report: Jason Kidd to buy Jay Z's Brooklyn Nets share

Brooklyn Nets head coach Jason Kidd reportedly agrees to buy a stake in the team from rapper and agent Jay Z.

Brooklyn Nets head coach Jason Kidd has reportedly agreed to buy Jay Z's share in the team.

Under NBA rules, the rapper is no longer allowed to own a stake in a team, as he runs an agency which represents athletes in the league.

ESPN has stated that Kidd has paid $500,000 (£320,287) for the stake, which represent one-sixth of a percent of the franchise.

Agents and players are prohibited from owning shares in teams.
