Taoufik Makhloufi clinches 1,500m gold for Algeria

Taoufik Makhloufi has won the men's 1,500m Olympic title for Algeria.

Makhloufi muscled his way to the front of the pack at the bell and ran clear in the final 300m of the race to win by a clear margin at 3:34.08.

Leonel Manzano of the United States finished strongly round the outside to take silver in a season's best, while Abdalaati Iguider from Morocco claimed bronze.
