New York Giants secure comeback win

Giants secure comeback win

The New York Giants came from behind to beat the Oakland Raiders in their NFL clash at Metlife Stadium to move to 3-6 in their season.

The Giants has the worst possible start to the game as Jernell Jernigan fumbled the ball on the kickoff and the Raiders recovered, giving themselves possession inside the five-yard line. Quarterback Terrelle Pryor ran in for the score to give his side the lead.

Tom Coughlin's team responded when Raiders' Marquette King's punt was blocked by Damontre Moore and Cooper Taylor picked up the loose ball and ran it in for a 21-yard touchdown.

The Raiders regained the advantage through the boot of Sebastian Janikowski with a 33-yard effort, but New York took the lead in the game when Eli Manning drove his side downfield and lofted a pass into the end zone that was brought in by Rueben Randle for a five-yard touchdown.

However, there was to be another lead change before the end of the half as Manning threw an interception right into the hands of Tracy Porter and he ran the ball back to the end zone for the 43-yard score.

After the break, the Raiders extended their lead when Janikowski nailed a 24-yarder through the posts after the Giants made a goal-line stand to keep Pryor and Rashad Jennings at bay.

The Giants then took the lead when Pryor threw an interception as Terrell Thomas undercut a route and picked the ball and ran it back to the three-yard line before he was brought down.

Manning handed off to Andre Brown, who powered in for the score on his first game back from injury.

Kicker Josh Brown added a field goal from 23 yards to make it a four-point game for the Giants and the Raiders could not mount a comeback, as Coughlin's side secured their third win in a row.
