Reese: 'McAdoo will energise offense'

New York Giants general manager Jerry Reese believes that new offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo will "energise" the club next season.

McAdoo was hired to replace Kevin Gilbride, who retired from the game after 39 years of coaching, as the Giants' offense struggled in the 2013 campaign.

Reese told reporters: "I think he's going to bring some new life. Obviously, Coach Gilbride did a terrific job for us. The change, I think, is going to energise our offense a little bit.

"There's new learning for the quarterback and the staff. He's an interesting guy. Very bright."

Quarterback Eli Manning had one of the worst seasons in his career in 2013, throwing 18 touchdowns to 27 interceptions.
