Tom Coughlin: 'Odell Beckham is three weeks away from fitness'

New York Giants head coach Tom Coughlin reveals that Odell Beckham will miss the first three weeks of the 2014 season with a hamstring injury.

New York Giants head coach Tom Coughlin has revealed that wide receiver Odell Beckham is three weeks away from fitness ahead of the 2014 season.

The Giants' first-round pick in the 2014 Draft injured his hamstring during the first week of training camp and has not been able to practise since, preventing him from being ready for his side's start to the campaign.

Coughlin told reporters: "I went to him yesterday to say, 'Let's just not have any more setbacks.' Because it's every day the same question over and over.

"He's not ready to play. He may be a couple or three weeks away. I'll let you know when he's ready."

Coughlin's side face the Detroit Lions on Monday in their 2014 season opener.
