Dallas Cowboys' DeMarco Murray breaks NFL record

Dallas Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray breaks the NFL record for the most consecutive matches of over 100 rushing yards to start a season.

Dallas Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray broke the record for the most consecutive games of over 100 rushing yards at the start of an NFL season this evening.

The 26-year-old eclipsed the feat of Hall of Fame back Jim Brown when he ran for over 100 yards for the seventh game in a row, breaking Brown's record of six games, in his side's victory over the New York Giants.

Murray played a pivotal role in Jason Garrett's side win as he recorded 128 rushing yards on 28 carries along with a touchdown, as the Cowboys won for their sixth match in a row.

The running back has now run for 913 yards and seven touchdowns in the 2014 season.
