Great Britain's number one Laura Robson is knocked out of the French Open by Caroline Wozniacki.

Laura Robson's run at the French Open was ended in the opening round this afternoon by former world number one Caroline Wozniacki.

The Brit went into the match having defeated the likes of Petra Kvitova and Agnieszka Radwanska earlier this year, but she was unable to repeat that feat this time around as Denmark's Wozniacki ran out a 6-2 6-3 winner.

Wozniacki broke early on during the opening set for a 3-1 lead, but 19-year-old Robson responded immediately with a break of her own. However, she surrendered her very next service game, which handed the initiative to the Dane and she went on to claim the first set.

It was a similar story in the second set as Robson committed a number of errors during her service games and 22-year-old Wozniacki capitalised to win the encounter in one hour and 12 minutes.

Wozniacki has never advanced beyond the last eight in Paris.
