Wigan Warriors keep pace with leaders after Catalans Dragons thrashing

Wigan Warriors come from behind to record a comprehensive 16-37 victory against Catalans Dragons.

Catalans Dragons were swept aside by a ruthless Wigan Warriors side at the Stade Gilbert Brutus this evening in a 16-37 victory for the English side.

Although Tony Clubb's 11th-minute try gave Wigan the lead, it was cancelled out just five minutes later when Morgan Escare crossed the line, and in the 22nd minute Elliott Whitehead put the Dragons 10-6 ahead.

Going behind seemed to spark the visitors into life, though, and Matthew Bowen scored two tries either side of Josh Charnley's effort as the Warriors showed their formidable form to open up a considerable lead in the minutes before the break.

Their relentlessness continued in the second half, as Scott Taylor and Joe Burgess scored further tries to put the result beyond any doubt.
