Wigan Warriors recorded a 20-6 victory over champions Leeds Rhinos at the DW Stadium this evening.
Josh Charnley ran in a hat-trick of tries for Warriors, while Pat Richards was in good form with the boot to kick four goals.
In reply, Leeds Rhinos claimed their only try of the match in the 56th minute courtesy of Darrell Griffin.
Kevin Sinfield was on hand to score the resultant drop-goal but it proved to be little more than a consolation for the visiting Rhinos.
