Joleon Lescott: 'We can't get carried away'

West Bromwich Albion defender Joleon Lescott is adamant that his side can't afford to get carried away with their recent success ahead of their clash against Burnley.

West Bromwich Albion defender Joleon Lescott has insisted that no player in his side can afford to rest on their laurels ahead of their Premier League clash against Burnley.

The Baggies have won their last two matches as they defeated Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane, and then backed that effort up with a comeback victory over Hull City in the Capital One Cup.

However, Lescott is adamant that his side have to retain their focus for their match against the Clarets.

Lescott told the club's official website: "Winning breeds confidence and we are on the back of a great win at Spurs, which is always a tough place to go and get a result. It was a massive performance from everyone in the team.

"We managed to back it up with an important win in midweek to reach the last 16 of the Capital One Cup. We won't get carried away because we have gone to Spurs and won.

"It is only one win and three points, so it's on to the next one now against Burnley which is probably an even bigger game."

Alan Irvine's side face Burnley at The Hawthorns on Sunday.
