Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's Australian A-League fixtures, including Sydney FC vs. Melbourne City.

Wellington Phoenix and Western Sydney Wanderers resume their A-League campaigns on Saturday after varying success ahead of the World Cup.

While the visitors currently occupy second position in the standings, the home side are down in eighth spot, and there are seven points separating the two teams.

We say: Wellington Phoenix 1-1 Western Sydney Wanderers

Had this fixture taken place before the World Cup, we would have been backing an away win in convincing fashion. Instead, the lack of match sharpness leads to us predicting a competitive draw, one which would suit Wellington more so than their opponents.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 2.5 goals.

Sydney FC vs. Melbourne City (Saturday, 8.45am)

For the first time in the 2022-23 A-League season, rivals Sydney FC and Melbourne City will square off Saturday at Allianz Stadium.

City lead the league with 16 points and are the only unbeaten team remaining in this domestic campaign, while the Sky Blues sit sixth in the table on seven points, losing their previous encounter 1-0 to West Sydney Wanderers.

We say: Sydney FC 0-2 Melbourne City

In the early portion of the campaign, Melbourne City look as determined as ever to return to the Finals series and avenge their defeat in the Grand Final.

Their depth up front and poise along the backline should make life difficult for Sydney, who have allowed far too many quality chances to this point of the campaign.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 2.5 goals.

Perth Glory vs. Western Utd (Saturday, 11.30am)

Perth Glory and Western United return to action in the A-League when they go head-to-head at Macedonia Park on Saturday.

Separated by just one point at the wrong end of the league standings, both sides will head into the weekend in search of a pick-me-up as they look to get their season up and running.

We say: Perth Glory 1-3 Western United

Fresh off the back of picking up their first win of the season, Western United will head into the weekend with renewed belief as they look to move into the top half of the table. While they have struggled in defence, they have been potent at the opposite end of the pitch and we predict that they will outscore the hosts and extend their dominance in this fixture.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 2.5 goals.
