Laudrup: 'Vorm remains first choice'

Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup reveals that he will recall goalkeeper Michel Vorm when he has recovered from a groin injury.

Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup has insisted that he still considers Gerhard Tremmel to be the second-choice goalkeeper at the club.

Tremmel has impressed after replacing the injured Michel Vorm for Swansea's last five Premier League games but Laudrup believes that Vorm will warrant immediate selection once he is fully fit.

Laudrup told reporters: "I am of the opinion that if somebody proves himself over a long period of time, he still deserves to be number one even after four or five games out.

"That goes for a keeper, a right-back, a left-back or whoever. It's difficult to say they are not playing after a little spell out, and I think Michel has shown here that he is number one.

"But having said that, you cannot stand still as a player. What Gerhard has done has put pressure on Michel, and that's good for the team."

Vorm has made 46 appearances for Swansea since he joined the club in 2011.
