Harry Kane 'among Real Madrid's top transfer targets'

Former Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon says that the club is lining up Harry Kane as a long-term acquisition.

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane is one of Real Madrid's top transfer targets, according to the Spanish club's former president.

Ramon Calderon told The Sun that Los Blancos view the England international as a player who could remain at the club for at least five years.

The ex-Real president, however, added that Spurs would likely demand a "fortune" for Kane's services.

"The objective for Real Madrid, no doubt, is Kane," he said.

"If they want a player for the next five or six years they are going to go for Kane but [Spurs chairman Daniel] Levy is going to ask a fortune for him."

Calderon went on to say that it is a similar situation regarding another Real transfer target, Bayern Munich's Robert Lewandowski, but added that both players will likely decide where their futures lie.

"As far as I know, Tottenham is not willing to let him go but Bayern also say Lewandowski is not going anywhere," he added.

"[Bayern chief executive Karl-Heinz] Rummenigge has said he can bet that he will be in Bayern next season but we have heard that so many times, and in my experience it is the player who has the final decision of where to go."

Spurs have previously made it clear that they will resist any offers for Kane.
