Jose Mourinho accuses Tottenham Hotspur forward Harry Kane of 'hiding' during the Champions League final.

Jose Mourinho has accused Tottenham Hotspur forward Harry Kane of 'hiding' during the 2019 Champions League final.

Kane was named in the Tottenham XI almost two months after suffering an ankle injury against Manchester City in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final.

The centre-forward struggled to make his mark in Madrid, though, and Liverpool claimed the trophy courtesy of a 2-0 win over their Premier League rivals.

Mourinho, who was sacked by Manchester United in the latter stages of 2018, has claimed that Kane offered little to Mauricio Pochettino's side at the Wanda Metropolitano.

"The reality is that Tottenham had 61% of ball possession but had zero shots on target," Mourinho told beIN SPORTS. "They missed lots of passes, they couldn't link play.

"Harry Kane was hidden all the time. He normally drops back, normally comes in-between the lines, normally he's the link player.

"He receives the ball from one side, he goes in-between the lines, he turns, plays with the other full-back of the other side, he arrives in the box. Nothing of this dynamic [has happened]."

Kane's total of 24 goals for the 2018-19 season is his lowest tally for five years.
