Roma beat Inter Milan in six-goal thriller

Roma claim a fifth successive win as Miralem Pjanic scores twice in a dramatic 4-2 victory over Inter Milan.

Miralem Pjanic scored twice as Roma clinched a fifth successive Serie A win by beating Inter Milan 4-2 in a dramatic encounter in the Italian capital.

Roma dominated possession from the first whistle, but Francesco Totti's wayward strike from distance was the closest either side would come in the early stages.

The hosts claimed a deserved lead midway through the first half when Adem Ljajic found space inside the box before crossing to Gervinho, who had the easy task of tapping in from close range.

Inter could have equalised moments later, but Zdravko Kuzmanovic could only hit a weak effort straight at Morgan De Sanctis after latching on to a long ball forward.

However, the visitors would take their next chance to shock the home fans before the break as Andrea Ranocchia headed in from a Kuzmanovic corner to get his side back on level terms.

Roma were back in front two minutes into the second half thanks to Jose Holebas, who evaded a number of tackles on his way into the box before picking out the top corner with a stunning strike.

Inter restored parity once again when Pablo Osvaldo, who had fired wide moments earlier, picked out the bottom corner after latching onto a cross from Dodo.

However, the drama was far from over as Roma took the lead for a third time four minutes later when Pjanic slotted home following good work from Gervinho and Totti.

The visitors would struggle to produce a response after falling behind once again, but Roma's inability to kill Inter off raised hopes of a late comeback from Roberto Mancini's side.

It would be Roma who had the final say in stoppage time, though, as Pjanic stepped in to curl in a free kick and secure the points in style.
