Matt Phillips eyes Premier League with Queens Park Rangers

Matt Phillips hopes that Queens Park Rangers can get promoted to the Premier League this season.

Queens Park Rangers winger Matt Phillips has admitted that he would love to play in the Premier League again with his new club.

Phillips, who was part of the Blackpool team when they were last in the top flight, also said that he is looking forward to playing against his old teammates when the two sides meet on Saturday.

"I had a great three years at Blackpool," he told the Fulham Chronicle. There were a lot of ups and downs, like relegation, but I'll always remember that first season in the Premier League. To go there when I was young and get a taste of it gives me the hunger to get back there.

"I still speak to a couple of the lads. I was roommates with Tom Ince and was in the Scotland squad with Matt Gilks. I look forward to going back.

"I like to think I will get a good reception. I left the club on good terms, there was no bad feeling."

QPR are second in the Championship, while Blackpool are seventh.
