Derby County hit five past nine-man Blackpool

Derby County come from a goal down to beat nine-man Blackpool 5-1 in the Championship.

The visitors took an early lead through Isaiah Osbourne, after the defender headed in from a Thomas Ince cross in the third minute.

Derby fought hard for a quick equaliser and continued to look strong in front of goal as the first half progressed, but they could not find the back of the net before the half-time whistle.

However, the hosts were level within moments of the restart after Chris Martin was brought down in the penalty area, allowing the striker to convert from the spot.

The 25-year-old gave the Rams the lead just six minutes later after Matt Gilks denied Simon Dawkins, but the ball dropped to Martin, giving him a simple tap-in for his second.

Craig Bryson compounded Blackpool's misery moments later as he made it three within the opening 12 minutes of the second half after Andre Wisdom pulled the ball back to the defender.

The situation worsened again for the visitors with just over 20 minutes left to play as Neal Bishop was dismissed for a wild challenge on Dawkins inside the box.

Martin stepped up to take his second penalty of the afternoon, completing his first ever football league hat-trick.

Paul Ince's side were reduced to nine men as they picked up their fifth red card of the week with just two minutes left to play after Angel Martinez was booked for the second time.

The further numerical advantage allowed Richard Keogh to complete the rout, as the captain bundled the ball into the back of the net deep into stoppage time.
