Manchester United interim head coach Ralf Rangnick expects to have Harry Maguire, Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho and Phil Jones available against Aston Villa.

Manchester United interim head coach Ralf Rangnick is expecting to have Harry Maguire, Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho and Phil Jones available for selection against Aston Villa on Saturday.

All four players were absent for Monday's FA Cup clash with Steven Gerrard's side, which was decided by a first-half header from Scott McTominay.

However, Rangnick, speaking during Friday's press conference, has said that the quartet should all be fit to return from minor injuries at Villa Park.

"I think they will be available. They only trained yesterday for the first time, Cristiano yesterday, Harry I think the day before yesterday. So as a team, we have to wait for the final training session this afternoon, but right now they should be available for tomorrow," Rangnick told reporters.

Man United will be without the services of Luke Shaw and McTominay through suspension, though, while Paul Pogba is still out with a thigh problem, and Eric Bailly is in action at the Africa Cup of Nations.

The 20-time English champions, who lost their last league match at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers, are currently seventh in the table, six points behind fourth-placed West Ham United.
