Crystal Palace defender Joel Ward wants Manchester City scalp

Crystal Palace defender Joel Ward wants to keep up his side's excellent run of form and defeat Manchester City in their Premier League game at Selhurst Park.

Crystal Palace defender Joel Ward believes that his side can keep up their recent excellent form when they take on Manchester City at Selhurst Park.

Tony Pulis's team have won their last five games in the top flight, which has moved them clear of the relegation zone and into the safety of mid-table.

Ward has admitted that his side now want to better their result of earlier in the season when they were narrowly defeated by City at the Etihad Stadium.

He told the club's official website: "I think in the first game at their place we were unfortunate maybe not to come away with at least a point really.

"We had a few good chances late on, but if we can prepare like we have in any other game and make sure we look after ourselves and prepare right, at the end of the day it's 11 against 11 on the pitch and anything can happen.

"We want to continue our form right until the end of the season."

Palace are 11th in the Premier League with 43 points after 35 games this season.
